Tying flies and making fishing lures is in my blood. I don't really know how it got that way but it did many years ago. Over the course of 16 years of tying fishing flies, dressed hooks and teasers commercially I have developed a few tools to make the process faster and more efficient. In this brief article and video, I will share with you my motorized fly tying vise. It is a "Frankenstein" type of fishing fly vise but it works to get the job done. Also, this article will be a work in progress to refine the details of how I made this vise work.
